START-UP INSTRUCTIONS

Welcome aboard! The following are instructions for using Kid Scoop pages in your newspaper.

How to Download Kid Scoop from our Web site.

1. Go to www.kidscoop.com and click on NEWSPAPERS


2. On the Newspapers Home page click on Customer Log-in - a log in box will appear.


3. Enter your User name and password all in lowercase with no spaces
   (Passwords are assigned to customers only and are sent on receipt of signed contracts)


4. Click on Log in


5. At the Download Zone Menu scroll down and click on Kid Scoop


6. Check the Publication dates and scroll to the page you need.
   (The Publication date refers to the Sunday at the beginning of the publication week)


7. We have 22 different versions of the page to choose from [for more information click Formats here]
   Select Color or Black and white
   Select appropriate size of page
   Select from pdf or op_pdf formats
   Now click on the page you want and it will download to your desktop.

This is a quarter page Ad promoting Kid Scoop as a new page in your newspaper. Add your publication date and logo to customize.

WHAT YOU GET WITH KID SCOOP

Teacher Scoop

Teacher Scoop is a free, monthly newsletter you distribute to teachers using the newspaper in the classroom. It previews upcoming Kid Scoop topics, gives weekly Write On! prompts and describes lessons ideas for using the newspaper with students.

To download Teacher Scoop, follow steps 1 through 5 above and click on Teacher Scoop at the Weekly Page Download Menu.

By clicking the link you will download a 4 page legal size pdf to your desktop.

If you publish the LOCAL version, you will need pages 1 and 2. Add your logo and address on Page 1 (as shown on Page 4), copy two-sided on to legal-sized paper, duplicate and distribute to your teachers.

If you publish the TOTALLY TURNKEY version, you will need pages 2 and 3. Add your logo to Page 3 and use the bottom space to promote your local program. Copy two-sided on to legal-sized paper, duplicate and distribute to your teachers.

Weekly Writing Corner column

If you publish the LOCAL version of Kid Scoop, you must add a contact name and address on the page in the Write On! box under “Send your story to:” Your local children will submit stories to you by the announced deadline. You format stories for the Weekly Writing Column and publish them on the appropriate page n check the Publication Schedule for dates.

If you are just starting to publish Kid Scoop or if you need to supplement your local stories, each week we post a formatted column of stories. You may select from these if you need just a few, or you may use the entire column.

To download the Write On! column, follow steps 1 through 5 above and click on Weekly Writing Corner at the Weekly Page Download Menu. Check the date and click on the link to download the pdf to your desktop.
