Crafts

Enjoy some quality time with your children by working on a craft together. Working on projects together will improve their hand-eye coordination, their sense of achievement, their ability to concentrate and it's just plain fun. Each month we feature a new fun project.

Endless Design Snakes

Here is what you need:

Here is what you do:

1. Use the pencil to draw a 10 inch (25 cm) snake on the cardboard.

2. Cut the snake out. Use the snake as a pattern to make three more snakes that are all identical.

3. Cut the first snake into four equal sections. Use the sections as a pattern to help you cut the other three snakes exactly the same way.

4. Color a wild design on each section of the snakes. Add a mouth and eye to the head section of each snake.

5. Put a piece of stick-back magnet on the back of each snake section. Store the snake pieces in a zip-to-close bag.

You can design an endless number of snakes by arranging one of each of the four sections of the snake together on your refrigerator. Designer snakes are fun to play with on a long car trip. Just bring along an old metal cookie sheet to stick the pieces to.
