I’ll never leave you unsupported! When you choose to publish my youth feature Kid Scoop, I give you many tools to be successful in gaining more family circulation and revenue from places that rarely advertise.
All free!
Each week my website gives you these free marketing resources:
- Free, brand-new House Ads—each and every week.
- A free Teacher Guide for teachers using your newspaper at school.
- A free monthly newsletter called “Teacher Scoop” for teachers on how to use your newspaper in their classrooms to build learning skills.
- A publication schedule to help you promote each week’s Kid Scoop feature.
- And in-person: my help, whenever you need it.
But there’s more. When I created Kid Scoop some 30 years ago, I had a mission which continues to this day. I was a third-grade teacher, and I saw the increase in reading ability and understanding of civics when I brought my local newspaper into the classroom. I heard from parents who loved the learning activities they could do as a family at home.
In these decades, we’ve found newspapers around the nation and abroad using the power of newspapers to raise literacy levels. My mission began with bringing “The Magic of Reading” to children. The mission has expanded to developing literacy in adults and contributing to projects focused on raising high school graduation rate. (See links below.)
In addition, we seek to:
- Develop “The Newspaper Habit” in children so they read the newspaper throughout their lives.
- Strengthen citizenship through increased readership and participation in local government.
- Delight children with really fun activities in science, math, reading, geography, history, and biography—puzzles, games, writing challenges.
- Support teachers with a turnkey learning resource for classroom and parent involvement at home.
