Passenger Lands Plane

This is an incredible story of calm in the face of danger.

Last Tuesday afternoon, May 10, 2022, Boca Raton airport in Florida received a call from a passenger on board a Cessna airplane. The pilot of this plane had suffered a medical emergency and was not conscious.

A passenger radioed the control tower and said “I’ve got a serious situation here. My pilot has gone incoherent, and I have no idea how to fly the plane.”

Air traffic control advised the passenger to follow the coast and try to keep the wings level. It took a few minutes for them to locate the plane but when they did, they were then able to give instructions to guide the passenger to a landing. “Push forward the controls and descend at a very slow rate.”

Miraculously the passenger was able to do just that and the private plane landed slowly and smoothly.
