Whoooooo’s white, lives in the Arctic tundra and hunts both day and night? The Snowy Owl, that’s whooooo. Adaptation has caused this bird’s plumage to turn white in the winter so he can better blend with the snow’s cover. With spring’s thaw, his feathers change again showing streaks of brown. With a five foot wingspan, this is one of nature’s largest flying creatures. Unique features like a head that pivots and eyes with two eyelids make the Snowy Owl one interesting fellow.
