Who knew ghosts, goblins, and ghouls could come to the rescue of a community looking for a new way to make things better for kids? In this issue, you will discover how one California city—and group of creative women—devised a spooky-but-fun way to do just that! Hundreds of community volunteers have gathered every October for fifty years to create a Ghost House that raises eyebrows while raising money for local charities, and turning a Halloween adventure into activities that last year round! Your young citizen will be introduced to community service as a way for people of all ages to make positive and lasting changes in the lives of others—always a “boo-tiful” idea!
