Go on a nature walk anywhere, and you’ll likely encounter trees of all shapes, sizes, and varieties. Enormous sequoias and imposing redwoods are giants among trees, and distinguished as the tallest living things on the planet! Surpassing many man-made structures, giant trees can also survive hundreds of years. How they survive Mother Nature’s destructive elements—such as fires or harmful insects—can be explained scientifically.
