Grab a glass of milk, and chances are that milk came from a cow. But goats have also been providing milk for thousands of years. And from goats’ milk, people in countries around the world make a variety of delicious—and low-fat—cheese products. Goats are smaller than cows, easier to care for, and less expensive to maintain. Enjoying a diet of fresh greens and seeds, goats can scamper to the top of trees to forage their favorite fresh foliage. Unique physical features—such as circle vision—and instincts enable goats to live and thrive in nature. But you can also raise goats as pets! Next time you’re at the grocery store, see if you can spot some products made from goats’ milk! Will you be brave enough to sample a taste?
