Children love holidays and traditions. Learning about the celebrations and festivals of other countries is one fun and interesting way to build bridges between cultures. Holi, also called the “Festival of Colors”, is an annual celebration in India when people splash each other with vibrant paints to welcome the arrival of Spring. Reading the words of a young Indian writer, students will learn more about the food and excitement that accompany this holiday. Also included are ideas for young readers to have their own Holi party.
