How would you like to be part of a worldwide team studying the tiniest creatures on earth by sending them into outer space? That’s what some lucky children got to do when they collected samples of microbes from crazy places—like the bottom of an NFL cheerleader’s shoe or second base at a major league baseball park. These student samples support a study called Project MERCCURI, and sending microbes—tiny living organisms—into outer space is part of the fun. Microbes are everywhere!
