Pip! Pop! Ping! Pong! The small white plastic sphere sails rapidly over the low net attached to a green wooden table. What game might you be playing? Ping pong is a sport enjoyed by people of all ages—in fact, sometimes children can skillfully beat adult players! How did this game become so popular? Portable equipment is one reason—tables can easily be located indoors in the winter and outdoors in the summer making ping pong a perfect year round sport! Since ping pong was invented over 100 years ago, rules and equipment have naturally evolved with the times. One thing that hasn’t changed is the fun you’ll have when you pick up a paddle and ping pong your day away!
