Polar bears inhabit the harsh rugged climate of the North Pole in the Arctic Circle. Their unique body structures and fine instincts enable survival in frigid conditions where other species might perish. Thanks to mother bears—and Mother Nature—young polar bears are well-schooled in survival lessons! Warmed by their mother’s body heat, these one pound furless cubs can eventually grow to hundreds of pounds before setting off on their own aided by layers of body fat and thick fur.
