Each year millions of American students participate in Red Ribbon Week activities designed to support healthy life choices and remain drug free. This issue explains the history of this special event and the contribution of Enrique Camarena, a drug enforcement officer, in its founding. Tobacco is a particularly dangerous drug not only because it is addictive and can cause physical harm, but also because it harms the environment in its production and byproducts.
