de-wwiNovember 11 is a special holiday that honors veterans of our nation’s efforts to defend freedom, and 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the onset of one of our nation’s greatest conflicts—World War I. This issue spotlights not only the conflict of World War I, but actions that led to resolution. The symbols and special activities associated with Veterans Day are explained and underscore the positive and negative impacts of conflict and the alliances that are created between nations.
