Sea creature? Monster of the Deep? Alien from Outer Space? Nope! It’s the giant squid with unique features that make it seem like all those things rolled into one. This large slippery “cephalopod” has learned to survive nature’s challenges while sometimes growing to over 40 feet long! Feeding tentacles capture prey, while giant eyes keep a lookout for whales that might be lurking nearby. Each wiggly tentacle is tipped with suckers and teeth, while its mighty beak chews food into bite sized pieces. You’ll be intrigued with fascinating survival structures of this animal—but steer clear if you meet one!
