Begin by conducting an experiment to magically – or scientifically – change a flower from white to green. Along the way you’ll learn how a stem serves as the plant’s unique transportation system. Next, you’ll pull some tricks to find two matching leprechaun hats. With your investigative skills well-tuned, you’ll be ready to solve the missing word puzzle and answer tricky questions. Wrap things up looking for examples of environmentally “green” items in the news! Sure ’tis a fine day to celebrate with the Irish!

In this issue students will:

  • follow written instructions for scientific method
  • practice expository reading and writing
  • complete a “cloze” activity to demonstrate comprehension
  • solve crossword puzzles and practice close observation to match items
  • use the newspaper to locate information
