Taking care of our planet and environment has never been more important. Learning at an early age how they can help by recycling, reusing, and replanting to sustain the earth helps children feel responsible for future generations. In this issue young readers will learn about “Plastic Soup Island” located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean where ocean currents have carried plastic trash to a location that now covers 500 nautical miles. Unseen by satellite the plastic trash lies just below the surface and is only visible by sailing through it.
