Amazing athletes from around the world compete every four years in the Olympic games under the motto “Citius, Altius, Fortius”—Swifter, Higher, Stronger … but what if the athletes had three body parts, two antennas and six legs? Could they be even more amazing? They could if they were super insects with extraordinary features that gave them the ability to perform incredible feats of strength and skill. This issue invites young scientists to enter the animal kingdom and learn about insects that are super speedy runners, astonishing jumpers and powerful weight lifters. Let the games begin!

- understand the meaning of the Olympic motto
- record data on a bar graph
- use the newspaper for contraction action and to search for superlative photos
- find similarities and differences in super strong beetles
- create a buggy game for your own Olympics
