The covid lockdown in the spring of this year created time for people to take up a hobby, spring clean, decorate a room or two or plant a garden. But in Napa CA, a whole different project took shape.
Sean LaRochelle, clearly could not visit Disneyland at this time, but felt inspired to build his own rollercoaster taking the famous Disney Matterhorn ride as a model for inspiration. There’s a waterfall, a cave, several steep drops and even an animatronic Yeti whose creepy eyes glow in the dark.
It took four months for LaRochelle, a graduate architecture student, to complete the project with help from family members (his brother apparently “the mechanical genius”) and friends.
