In 2006, NASA launched a spacecraft called New Horizons into space. Its mission is to fly by the dwarf planet, Pluto and then head on into the mysterious Kuiper Belt—a region of space that is filled with millions of small objects orbiting our sun.
New Horizons reached Pluto on July 14, 2015 after more than nine years of travel through space!
Now it is heading farther into the Kuiper Belt to learn more about the icy and rocky objects orbiting there.
